A Monthly Preview of Madison's Art Scene

Do you love the arts? Call yourself an avid fan? Or maybe you're versed in a couple art forms, or allegiant to a particular Madison arts group, but don't know much about what other companies are about and what they do?
Whether aficionado or neophyte, if you're looking for once-a-month, easy-to-get information about the Madison arts scene, check out eMAC, MadisonVerve's new e-magazine.
eMAC delivers a monthly arts calendar, but more than that, we strive to build greater support for the arts organizations that are vital to a strong, vibrant community. This is eMAC's primary raison d'être - to foster a collaborative forum in which arts groups can connect with each other and with you, their audience. Our other goal is to help make the arts more accessible for our readers.
Ours is a culture that tries to take the arts so seriously-make them so highbrow, so "good for you." But we don't like to think of the arts like Brussels sprouts or a trip to the gym-we'd rather think of them as luminaires or lenses that can bring focus to who we are and how we see our world, especially those places of which we aren't always fully aware. We think this is what makes the arts so compelling, today and across history. Our task is to help make the arts more meaningful in our society and our lives. Given, a task that won't always be clear-cut. But one that promises to be thought-provoking. And one we intend to be fun, too.
As an eMAC subscriber, you'll get our e-magazine delivered to your inbox the first Tuesday of each month. In it, you'll get detailed and stimulating commentary about what's happening in the arts in the month ahead. eMAC doesn't just feature one art form in one column and another one in the next, but rather provides a cross-sampling of Madison's diverse arts arena in one place-an ideal resource for anyone interested in becoming more familiar with the arts, but with limited free time. eMAC is also different from most print sources in that it gives you comprehensive information about arts events well in advance-at the beginning of each month-so you'll have plenty of time to call friends, schedule child care, get dinner reservations, and make your plans.
